Sunday August 4th the Auburn Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club will host the 4th Annual Criterium Bike Race. Riders from the New England area will come to Maine to race on the streets of Downtown Lewiston. The race will be on a short fast loop around Lisbon and Canal Streets. Criterium racing is much like a short track stock car race. Racers will do laps of the half-mile loop for about one hour per race. Speeds will reach nearly 40 mph in sections. There will be 7 different races during the day starting at 9:30am.
Spectating is free of charge and highly encouraged. Maine Adaptive is humbled and honored to be the beneficiary of this year’s race. We will be doing a pre-race adaptive cycle demonstration on the course starting at 8:45 am. We hope you can join us and show your support for all athletes!
There is plenty of free parking available surrounding the race loop. The Start Finish line will be at Dufrense Plaza on Lisbon Street. There will also be a demonstration of adaptive bikes on the course at 8:45am for anyone interested. For more info contact Rainbow Bike at Info@Rainbowbike.com.
