Volunteer with Maine Adaptive

Welcome! Thinking about volunteering? Our community of over 270 volunteers will be glad to have you! For info about volunteering, read on or just skip to the end and give us a call or send us an email to get started. We hope you’ll join the Maine Adaptive family!

At Maine Adaptive, we believe in the restorative power of sports and recreation. Established in 1982, Maine Adaptive Sports & Recreation is a volunteer-driven organization motivated by the passion and dedication of the volunteer community.

To become a volunteer for MASR, volunteers undergo training that’s specifically oriented to providing a safe, fun, and educational experience for our students with disabilities.

To get started, please submit the New Volunteer Application linked below and we will be in touch shortly to complete the registration process and set up your Volunteer Portal Account.

Volunteers find their way to Maine Adaptive in a myriad of ways. Whether a friend refers them, they see us out on the trails or slopes, or like Emma and Angie–it just runs in the family.

“It was on my mind for quite a while, Angie explains. I made excuses to myself like: I don’t ski well enough, it’s a long drive in my old car, I don’t have the time. It wasn’t until my brother suggested that we should do it that I joined. I always tell my brother it’s the best thing he’s ever done for me.”

Angie has been a volunteer now for twelve years.

We all could use a gentle nudge from our loved ones from time to time; in this case, that nudge inspired the next generation of family to get involved, too.
