Since 2006 Maine Adaptive has hosted Veterans No Boundaries(VNB) winter camp, a four-day winter sports retreat at Sunday River Ski Resort that is open to military veterans and active duty personnel with disabilities. Family members & caregivers are welcome. Held each January, Veterans and their guests will have opportunities to alpine ski,  snowboard, Nordic Skiing, and snowshoe.  Court sports, craft activities, and evening entertainment are also scheduled. 

Open to permanently disabled veterans and active-duty personnel and their families, this camp is filled with exciting and rewarding adaptive recreation opportunities. Activities include alpine skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, court sports and craft activities. All activities, lodging, and meals are provided free of charge and participants are free to choose activities based on their own interests and energy levels throughout the camp. Transportation to the event is the responsibility of the participant, however, Maine Adaptive is able to assist with connection to organizations to assist with flights from out of state. Arrive Thursday, programs and activities Friday, Saturday, Sunday and depart on Monday. Application Deadline: December 13, 2024.

While we can also help with local transportation between program sites and to/from the Portland Jetport and Transportation Center (bus and train), all travel to/from Maine is the responsibility and at the expense of the participant.

Free to all veterans and active duty personnel with permanent disabilities, including PTSD.
