NEVI*Fest 2022 – We Made It Happen!

NEVI*Fest @ Sugarloaf

February 10-12, 2025

The New England VI Festival (NEVI Fest) is an opportunity for individuals with any type of visual impairment to learn to or improve your skills in skiing, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing and/or other winter activities with experienced blind guiding instructors. Included in the festival are all lessons and equipment. Lodging and meals are not provided, except for a celebratory banquet on Tuesday night. Information on area lodging options is available. Application Deadline: December 13, 2024.

NEVI*Fest starts with registration Sunday afternoon. After a good night’s sleep, gather at the base lodge for 3 days of snow-filled fun including alpine skiing and riding with experienced volunteer instructors and guides. There will be a chance to try out your skills on our very own Race Course, try cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, as well as join in other activities during the evenings.

We also offer a course for individuals interested in becoming Guides on the slopes. Call or email us for more details.

Our goal is to make you feel more confident on the mountain and gain friendships that extend off the mountain.

Highlights of the event include:

· Alpine ski instruction by trained volunteer instructors

· Option to try cross-country skiing and snowshoeing

· Opportunity to challenge yourself to try new activities

· The chance to test your skills on an Alpine Race course

· Opportunities to make connections with other Blind & VI skiers and guides

· Fun!

Maine Adaptive supplies all the lessons and equipment at no cost.

We have lodging packages available for anyone who needs lodging.
