As the days in Maine grow shorter and the first real snow of the season begins to fall outside, our appreciation for the supporters and partners who make Maine Adaptive’s mission possible only grows stronger. Across the state, ski resorts are opening, mountains are filling with fresh snow, and our community is buzzing with anticipation for another winter on the slopes and trails.
Over the past several weeks, we’ve been sharing stories of impact, including the journey of Alex and Rachael, whose experience with Maine Adaptive more than 30 years ago helped shape the vibrant, inclusive community we are today. Their story is just one of many that remind us what access to the outdoors can mean for individuals and families across Maine and beyond.

At Maine Adaptive, we work year-round to welcome students, families, and volunteers to the slopes, trails, courts, climbing walls, and waterways that make this state so special. Whether it’s skiing, snowboarding, Nordic, or snowshoeing in the winter, or cycling, mountain biking, paddling, indoor climbing, and pickleball throughout the warmer seasons, our programs offer continuous access to the Maine outdoors for individuals of all abilities.
This season of giving, we invite you to join us in ensuring that these life-changing experiences remain accessible, free of charge, and available to everyone who needs them. Your support directly fuels independence, joy, and community for thousands of Mainers and visitors each year.
In that spirit, here are 12 meaningful ways you can support Maine Adaptive, one for each day of holiday goodwill. Each step brings more people into the outdoors and into our community.
