Locations
Maine Adaptive offers summer and winter programs at a variety of locations throughout the state. Directions, including site-specific information, are created for each of our main venues and can be viewed and downloaded from the links below. For venues where we offer limited program days you will be emailed the information prior to that day.
Summer Programs
BACK COVE TRAILS
Preble St Ext, Portland
(Once in the parking lot, look for the red Maine Adaptive van at the center of the parking lot.)
From the South and North—Take I-295 to exit 7 (Franklin St). Turn right at the light at the end of the ramp onto Marginal Way. Turn right onto Preble St Ext. After passing under the interstate, take your first right into the parking lot.
PINELAND FARM
25 Campus Dr. New Gloucester, ME (the former YMCA location)
(Meet at the Visitor’s Center / Outdoor Center / Ski Shop).
Take I-95 North to exit 63 (Gray/New Gloucester). Turn right after the toll booth towards Gray. Stay in the right lane. At the first intersection, go straight through the light onto Rt 115. Travel 1.6 miles to a left onto Depot Rd. Travel 2.8 miles to a left onto Rt 231/Intervale Rd, then an immediate left onto Morse Rd. Turn right onto the Pineland campus. Meet at the Visitor’s Center/Outdoor Center/Ski Shop.
RANGE POND STATE PARK
26 State Park Rd, off the Empire Road in Poland
(Meet at the beach front picnic tables to the left of the boat launch).
Identify yourself as part of Maine Adaptive to the Ranger and there will be no charge. Park in the first parking lot on the left after entering the park.
From the South—Take I-95 North to exit 63 (Gray/New Gloucester). Take a left after the toll booth, and then your first right onto the Rt 26 bypass. This will then become Rt 26. Follow Rt 26 North to Poland Spring, just past the Shaker Village in New Gloucester. Turn right onto Rt 122. Take a left onto Empire Rd, then a left into the park.
From the North—Take I-95 South to exit 75 (Auburn). Turn right off the ramp and follow Rt 4/202/100 to a right onto Rt 122. Follow Rt 122 into Poland. Take a Right onto Empire Rd. and then a left into the park.
TODDY BROOK GOLF COURSE
925 Sligo Rd, North Yarmouth
(We will be gathered outside the front door.)
From the South—Take I-495 North to exit 15 (Yarmouth). Follow signs and get on Rt 1 North. Travel 1.2 miles to a right onto Rt115. Travel .7 miles to a right onto Sligo Rd. Travel 3.1 miles to Toddy Brook Golf course on the right.
From the North—Take I-295 South to exit 17 (Yarmouth). Follow signs and get on Rt 1 South. Travel 1.9 miles to a right onto Rt 115. Travel .7 miles to a right onto Sligo Rd. Travel 3.1 miles to Toddy Brook Golf Course on the right.
Winter Programs
SUNDAY RIVER RESORT
8 Sundance Ln, Newry
From South—Take I-95 North to exit 63 (Gray/New Gloucester). Take a left after the toll booth, and then your first right onto the Rt 26 bypass. This will then become Rt 26. Follow Rt 26 North to Bethel. Turn right on Parkway and then right onto Rt 2. Travel about 2.5 miles to a left onto the Sunday River Rd. Follow directions below to specific location
From North—Take I-95 South to exit 75 (Auburn). Take a right off the ramp and follow Rt 4/100/202 to a right onto Rt 122. Follow Rt 122 until it intersects Rt 26. Turn right onto Rt 26 and follow it to Bethel. Turn right onto Parkway and then right onto Rt 2. Travel about 2.5 miles to a left onto the Sunday River Rd.
*The Maine Adaptive Headquartes at Sunday River Ski Resort is about 200 yards beyond the South Ridge Base Area. Go under the overpass and take the first left.
SUGARLOAF MOUNTAIN
5092 Sugarloaf Access Rd, Carrabassett Valley
(Meet in the King Pine Room in the base lodge in the corner).
Take I-95 North to exit 112B for Rt 27. Follow Rt 27 through Farmington and Kingfield to Sugarloaf. Turn left onto the access road (at the Sugarloaf/USA sign). Maine Adaptive operates out of the King Pine Room in the base lodge. Participants may be dropped off at the base lodge, but please park in the regular lot unless you have a state issued handicapped parking permit. The number of handicapped spots is limited, but there is an accessible shuttle running from the parking lots. 119 Mountain Rd. Bridgton, ME. 04009. An easy 1-hour drive up route 302 from Portland, ME. 2.5 hours from Boston, or 25 minutes from the center of North Conway, NH heading east. Once you turn onto Mountain Rd. the Maine Base lodge is less than half a mile down the road on your right.
