NEWRY, Maine, September 2, 2025, Maine Adaptive Sports & Recreation, the state’s largest year-round adaptive recreation program, is proud to unveil a refreshed brand identity designed to reflect both accessibility and the natural beauty of Maine’s landscapes.

Thanks to a generous award from the State of Maine and the Office of Tourism, which is funded through the Economic Development Administration (EDA) American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), Maine Adaptive has spent the past year enhancing its marketing and outreach efforts. As part of this project, Maine Adaptive introduced updated logos, fonts, and colors—all thoughtfully chosen to strengthen accessibility, inclusivity, and consistency across its programs.

“This refresh is about more than design; it’s about ensuring that our brand reflects the same professionalism, energy, and inclusivity we bring to our programs every day,” said Amy Bannon, Managing Director. “Our new look is fresh, modern, and more accessible, while still staying true to the spirit of Maine Adaptive.”

What’s New:

  • Updated Main Logo featuring a cleaner, easier-to-read font and a fresh, ADA-compliant color palette inspired by snowy mountains, forest trails, and sparkling lakes.
  • Consistent Program Logos – including Veterans No Boundaries, NEVI Fest, and Mono Mayhem, now unified under the Maine Adaptive family style.
  • Expanded Visual Toolkit – modern font options and flexible color palettes that enhance visibility, outreach, and accessibility across all platforms.
  • Enhanced website accessibility with the introduction of a new accessibility plug-in tool to support individuals with blindness and visual impairments, seizure disorders, ADHD, and cognitive disabilities, and more.

The refresh was completed in collaboration with a Maine-based design company, Portland Design Co., emphasizing both local partnership and the landscapes that inspire Maine Adaptive’s work.

While the refreshed brand reflects today’s design trends and accessibility standards, it also builds on Maine Adaptive’s long history of growth. Since the last update, the organization has launched new programs, welcomed more volunteers, and delivered thousands of additional lessons. Maine Adaptive wants to ensure that, in addition to Maine residents, anyone visiting or vacationing in Maine knows that they have access to the best resources this great state has to offer. This new look not only strengthens accessibility and inclusivity but also gives Maine Adaptive a cohesive, professional identity that reflects its mission: providing more than 2,500 free adaptive sport lessons each year with the support of nearly 400 volunteers.
