What is the Vertical Challenge?
The Pete Sargent Vertical Challenge is a climbing fundraiser in support of Maine Adaptive Sports & Recreation, honoring the legacy of Pete Sargent—an extraordinary volunteer, mentor, and friend who dedicated countless hours to empowering others through the outdoors.

7:00am – Doors Open
8:00am – Climb away!
2:00pm – Awards ceremony
Teams of two climbers will compete to see how much vertical distance they can climb in six hours. With Top Rope, Lead, and Adaptive categories, climbers will push their limits while raising funds to expand adaptive sports opportunities across Maine. Prizes will be awarded in each category.
