As a 30-plus year student of Maine Adaptive, Enock Glidden resides in Bethel, Maine, and is an avid skier, rock climber, and hiker and participates in many other sports. These sports have included tennis, basketball, paragliding, and skydiving. Through an internship related to his studies in computer science, he was able to travel across the United States and visit some of our most cherished outdoor spaces including many national parks. He culminated his internship experience in California with a 5-day ascent of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park.
He is now on a mission to get people of all abilities outdoors in the state of Maine. Through his work with Maine Trail Finder and now Maine Adaptive, he is showcasing all of the amazing outdoor spaces available to people through blogs about his experiences, while also helping to improve access.
Enock joins our team in a part-time year-round Development Coordinator position where he will support event planning, outreach, advocacy, and fundraising. You’ll also see him out at programs where he will be familiarizing himself with activities that are new to him while visiting programs he has been involved with for years – like the climbing program at Salt Pump he helped start in 2015.
Please join us in welcoming Enock to the Maine Adaptive team and be sure to say “hi” this winter if you bump into him at any of our program venues. Welcome aboard, Enock!
