Specialty Programs
Our annual specialty camps are designed to bring people of similar backgrounds and experiences together for adventure around the state of Maine. Whether you are a veteran seeking camaraderie, a skier with paralysis seeking the opportunity to build skills among other monoskiers, our camps can give you a memorable experience and new friends to recreate with.
NEVI Fest is an annual specialty camp held each February at Sugarloaf Ski Resort. This multi-day camp provides on-snow lessons from beginners to advanced alpine skiers, Nordic skiers, and snowboarders that have a visual impairment. The days are filled with a variety of activities to create lasting memories and friendships. In addition, family and friends have an opportunity to learn how to become guides for visually impaired skiers and snowboarders.
Maine Adaptive’s mono ski clinics attract skiers from all over New England and beyond. This camp is instructed by skilled mono-skiers with the goal of improving each registered student’s skiing ability and increasing comfort across all terrain levels. This camp is designed for any experienced sit skier working towards independence and goals are individualized to each student’s needs.
In addition to our regular summer and program offerings, Maine Adaptive offers a Veterans No Boundaries Camp every summer and winter for veterans and their family members to experience the power of recreation together. All activities, lodging, accommodations, and meals are provided free of charge throughout these four-day events.
