WHEN I’M IN THE WATER | 11.87 minutes | by Kennedy Laylon | United States | Short synopsis: Amongst the hundreds of ponds that make up Cape Cod, there’s a community of wildlife, foliage…and old women. Susan, the founder of “Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage”, has gathered a group of old women to battle pollution in the ponds.

But for the little known stretch of beach called Boca Chica, that right is curtailed when SpaceX takes flight. TOGETHER AGAIN | 11.42 minutes | by Caity Grant | United States | Short synopsis: Together Again is the story of a mother and daughter who continually choose joy in the face of grief, exhaustion, and uncertainty. After her daughter survives a nearly fatal traumatic brain injury, Rachael, inspired by a chance encounter with Maine Adaptive, and against all odds, teaches herself and her disabled daughter to ski. What begins as a refusal to accept the limits placed on her daughter becomes a shared language and lifelong connection. Through skiing, Rachael and Alex find community, purpose, and a calling in helping others claim joy and independence.

THE GRAND SALMON | 52.5 minutes | by Jess Wiegandt | United States | Short synopsis: The Grand Salmon is an environmental documentary following the journey of three women who paddled 1,000 miles to recreate the journey wild salmon make each year to the Pacific Ocean. With eight dams along the way, these women experience why salmon populations are dwindling and explore what must be done to bring them back from the brink of collapse.
